Moving this to MacAddict Readers since it's a question about a specific issue, and not a help question.

Re: Pringles Can Antenna...which issue?

Would recommend

http://www.turnpoint.net/wireless/cantennahowto.html

rather than a Pringles cantenna.  It is pretty easy, and quite effective with the right can. Depending on the model of airport card, you need an MC-Card pigtail.

For the record, I used a bourbon can, perfect width, but a bit too long (which is better than too short).  I was picking up signals from over 200-300m.

That would be June 2005, page 56 -- one of Niko's favorite hacks.

I still believe in liberalism today as much as I ever did, but, oh, there was a happy time when I believed in liberals.

Probably should clear things up, I was talking about a promotional can that contained a 750ml bottle of spirits, rather than an actual can.

For the record, I don't even drink spirits... In the end, I simply spoke to my local bottle shop and they had a can lying around.

Worked great though.
