iLife '06
I miss the rumormill.
That said, what is iLife '06 going to give us?
I expect that the interfaces will receive their appropriate overhauls to match iTunes 6. Brushed metal is out in lieu of the gradient that was introduced in version six [something we'll probably see system-wide in Mac OS X 10.5].
Interface enhancements, check. Now time for some other changes. I'm pretty much clueless as to what features the apps need. I barely use iPhoto anymore [Aperture is a dandy replacement], but I expect to see it take a few hints from its big brother.
Guesses?

Well, if you weren't joking, what would it do?

They better release a spreadsheet app in iWork.

It's hard to think of what they could add to Garage Band. I guess they could improve sheet music options - let you edit and print them out. Other than that, it's about as good as consumer app can be. Hopefully they'll just optimize it a lot so it's not such a processor hog.

Agreed, though I'd like a simple inexpensive database management app included in that as well.
Short of possibly image creation, I don't know of anything missing from iLife. At this point I'd say they'd do better enhancing quality and options within what they have.

Wait that might suck.

A consumer level graphic design app would be great
or a web design app, to make complex websites easily

iFilemaker?
I'd say the RapidWeaver is quite an iLife-like website app.

Indeed. I'm not looking for the power of Filemaker, just something that could replace excel and its bad UI.

I think that iMovie has not been reasonably stable and reliable since 2.0. There are still so many annoying bugs and problems that iThink that apple should be embarrased.
I don't see Apple going with a spreadsheet app in iWork. Excel is far to dominate and one of the few MS apps that I think is well done.
I love the idea of a simple web-page maker or a graphic editor. Those would be in the traditional apple genre. Not a spreadsheet or DB program.

I agree Excel has too much of a power base as a spreadsheet program.
But a web-page/graphic designer would be cool, and it would work really well with iPhoto (host pics), iMovie (host movies) and Garageband (amatures could get their music onto the web). And seeing as Mac OS X allready has apache web server built in, the only other thing that you would need is a connection to the net (broadband preferably).

Re: iLife '06
a web design would fit in perfectly with Homepage on .mac. The way to do it now is really cumbersome. You have to make each page separatly, and the way you link them is hard. It only works well with single-page photo album sites. I would love to be able to make really complex and good looking websites, and just click a Homepage button to put in on the internet.

Re: iLife '06
I have seen on the internet two apps that take a hint from iTunes. iTunes is a great app for organization, and at this point, everyone's familiar with it and it works extrodinarily well. So, I have a massive DVD and CD collection. How about they make apps (I can't remember what the two that are out now are called, but they cost $$) which would be able to easily sort these into a list with an iTunes-like interface. That would be awesome.
And it would go along with the new theme Apple's moving towards (entertainment).

iLife:
- Spotlight Integration
- Improved compatibility and outputs
- New application that no one wants now but no one will be able to live without (Maybe mimicing the features of DeliciousLibrary?)
iWork
- Pages
- Improved functionality
- Improved compatibility
- More user-friendly interface
- features ++;
- Keynote
- As above
- Addition of an unnamed Spreadsheet app

Pages Express and Keynote Express. Of course, they'd have to beef up Pages and Keynote first...
