M4P DRM cracked

The article says it's an analog hole, but I think the article is wrong.
At arstechnica it is reported that it catches the acc after authentication and before the aac decoder gets it - which means it's not analog, and you can turn drm's aac into non drm'd aac without a loss in quality.
Using it of course would be a violation of dmca - and I expect that there shortly will be a quicktime update to fix the issue.
While I'm not a fan of DRM - Apple's is by far the most leanient drm there is.
Crap like this could ruin it for everyone.

No - I don't think you don't need to be streaming it.
I haven't used it.
It catches the "stream" that happens within quicktime - which means you just have to play the file.
When you play an m4p file, it first get's authorization - which decrypts it and sends the decrypted aac to the aac decoder.
This tool catches the stream between the authorization and the aac decoder, allowing you to capture the aac information to file - giving you a non drm aac file.

It was cracked not long after the store debut'd with the things of audio source recorders and the old "buy, burn, rip" tactic.

Gee what a shock. I saw your link to the Register, and your comment about the article being wrong and I thought "it has to be Andrew"
Nice to see I wasn't wrong. That guy seems to be openly hostile to anything Apple, and regularly pisses me off because he doesn't seem to bother with simple things like facts and accuracy. 
This hole will probably be plugged pretty quickly.

well, I do have a few tunes I purchased from ITMS, and I know before I shared them and authorized them on another mac, I was at least able to preview the file in the finder thru column view...

All DRM will be cracked. By its' very nature, it's begging to be cracked. I'm not surprised. Apple will patch, crackers will crack.

There were several Mac apps to download streaming music when iTunes 4.0 for mac was released. So far, I've heard only 2 apps (MyTunes and this one) made by Windows users. Considering Windows users make 80-90% of computer users, it's fair enough.
