If the reason you've been shying away from purchasing the MacBook Air with an SSD drive was price, Apple just gave you 500 reasons to rethink your position.
Apple dropped the price of the solid-state drive MacBook Air $500 today. The notebook was priced at $3,098. You can pick up the Air at the new price of $2,598.
The hard-drive-based MacBook Air is still $1,799.

anyone who payed $3,000 for a 64 gigabyte slower-than-macbook laptop was a retard. The same goes for a $2,500 one.
